  15. DHCP provides a superset of the functions provided by BOOTP.  This RFC
  16. describes the interactions between DHCP and BOOTP network
  17. participants.  This RFC is the product of the Dynamic Host
  18. Configuration Working Group of the IETF.
  19.  
  20. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.
  21.  
  22. This RFC specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the
  23. Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
  24. improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet
  25. Official Protocol Standards" for the standardization state and status
  26. of this protocol.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.

  28. This announcement is sent to the IETF list and the RFC-DIST list.
